Women!

Yes, I do want a guy to support me financially but at the same time, I want to be financially independant. Women. I know right!

Candy Queen Melts In Your Mouth

Katy Perry made the hot and humid evening even hotter with her to-die-for hotness on stage!

Even though she was here as part of the F1 entertainment, I didn't bother with the race at all. Cars are just boxes on wheels but hot girls like Katy Perry are better than hot wheels.

I love concerts! What's next? :)

Some Ups & Downs

This week, I extended three offers and all of them accepted! This brings me a huge step closer to my hiring target for the quarter - I can finally move slightly away from the edge of my seat. A HUGE breath of relief! One more hire and it's bullseye. After that, a trip to NZ might materialise. :)

Speaking of work, I have had three candidates being rejected at final stages of interviews. Given our infamous lengthy recruitment process, it's a miracle as it is that they made it to the final stage. Now, all efforts down the drain. Let's restart the engine and plough through another few hundred resumes in search of that one gem. :(

Collected my F1 tickets finally! I'm not a fan of the race so one might think it's warped that I bought 8 tickets for the event. Well, the Candy Queen aka Katy Perry is lending her sweetness to the event and is performing on Sunday at the race! I cannot wait for her crazy onstage antics to hit our shores. And I would also add dismissively that Jay Chou and Maroon 5 are performing on Fri and Sat. :)

Despite the quirky tapas and cozy decor, a date night at Esquina ended up to be not much of a romantic one, given the prolonged silence and knife-can-slice-it atmosphere. I thanked god for the delicious wine and the very salty foie gras burger - more for the former than the latter. I even forgo dessert. :(

I guess the saying "Life's a roller coaster ride" is true after all. Bring it on.

The Fish in the Water

For someone with an unexplainable phobia of water and fish, I sure have been out in the open water (and lake water) a lot this year - sunset cruise in Zimbabwe, shark cage diving in South Africa, dolphin chasing and snorkelling in Oman, water rafting in Indonesia and snorkelling (again) in Indonesia.

An island hopping tour awaits in Phuket at the end of the month, I expect more snorklling to be done.

Oh, and I've signed up for a Boating Licence Course in October.

I guess I can daresay I'm not letting my fear get the better of me. ;)

Faith

Have faith.
In you?
No, have faith in yourself. You made the decision to be with me. Have faith in your choice and that I will do the right by you.

Watching Soccer Again

Ferguson finally got it right this season! Stocking cute players = higher viewership. What else did you think I was referring to?

Now, I'm going to start watching the games again. Hee.

My Favourite Day

Today, the bf comes home from a 7-week business trip! Thus, my favourite day! :)

Well, even if it's only for 4 weeks before he leaves again for another 7 weeks.

Airbag Saved the Day

While driving from Somerset to Butter Factory in Gab's car with the boys, they were being the boys they always are - mocking my driving, talking shit about having to put their seatbelts on and making me laugh at their stupid jokes. I put my foot down - no pun intended - and said, "I'm the only one with an airbag seat". Everyone went silent, well, except for me. And that's how you shut the little boys up.

The airbag saved the day - not quite literally.

Shoes

RT @Carrie_Br4dshaw "Oh, I don't need another pair of shoes..." - Said no girl ever.

Girl Builds ‘Brain’ to Detect Breast Cancer

An artificial “brain” built by a 17-year-old whiz kid from Florida is able to accurately assess tissue samples for signs of breast cancer, providing more confidence to a minimally invasive procedure. The cloud-based neural network took top prize in this year’s Google Science Fair.

“I taught the computer how to diagnose breast cancer,” Brittany Wenger.
