The Latest & Greatest!

The latest and greatest version! Latest! Wooh! Greatest! Wooh!

Someone's getting big-headed even with a falling market share...

PS: Don't get me wrong. I'm a HUGE FF fan (I use it daily and I swear by it) but for such definitive word choice, can I then assume there will be no more new versions? Afterall, nothing should and can beat the greatest version, no?

It's All Business

When a fashion editor lands herself a WSJ cover, who dare now doubt the fashion business is serious business?

Of Shoes & Poop Of Milano

Last April, while I was packing for my RTW in RTW (round the world in Ready-to-Wear*) trip, I would scrutinise every piece of clothing I wanted to bring. I would hold it up, looked at it for a good five minutes and asked myself aloud, “Can I wear this in Milano?” If it ain’t Milano-worthy, it ain’t backpack-worthy**. The same goes for footwear, accessories and bags. Now, you don’t wonder anymore how I can spend up to some 12 hours to pack for a trip.

So there I was, last October, happily making my way up glorious Italy – Colosseum and strawberry gelato in Rome, David*** and rabbit meals in Florence, Duomo and hand-made pasta in Siena, Marco*** and sausage-fries combo pizza in Venice, and the last intended stop was Milano, one of fashion capitals of the world! As fate would have it, I didn’t make it to Milano. I ended up in Dominican Republic, basking under the Caribbean sun with Polish Loverboy (with two of his friends) and ended up in falling in love. With Polish Loverboy, not with the sun or his friends!

Fast forward to a year later, as I attempt my next crusade to Milano this April, I am once again presented with the same conundrum – what Milano-worthy frocks do I have in the wardrobe? To my horror, and with the new season approaching, I realised I do not own any Milano-worthy articles and god-forbid I do “unglam” in Milano.

So I did what every smart girl would do in her limited capacity – I walked into a shoe boutique, tried on a pair of shoes, handed my credit card over and walked out with a shopping bag, with a huge smile on my face. Hey, this is not an excuse to feed my shoes obsession! This critical situation calls for a critical call of judgement which I exercised very critically. Yes, I did.

The new pair of black strappy heels now sits patiently and obediently below the bed, awaiting the day it will kiss Milano’s concrete floor and ermm, pigeon poop. Fate has dealt strappy shoes a bad hand but me, the best one ever! :)

Oh Milano, we will find ourselves in embrace soon~

Very soon.

* I had this question posted to me by a friend “What is Ready-to-wear?” I almost fainted. This said friend works in the textile industry, for crying out loud. I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt but here goes nothing.
** I know, I know! I know a backpack ain’t Milano-worthy too, but what’s a girl to do when she has to move around ON HER OWN for seven months?
*** And these are NOT Italian loverboys we’re talking about.

Lucky Bitch

Having land a new job at one of the highest-profile IT company, Chewy's friends called me a bitch.

I can't help to agree that I'm a lucky bitch. ;)

Say A Little Prayer For Japan

Looking at the photos and videos of the aftermath of Japan's deadly 8.9 magnitude earthquake that occurred 80 miles offshore of the north coast made me weep like a baby.

I had immediately texted two ex-colleagues of mine, Jun-san and Ken-san, yesterday. While I'm not deeply acquainted with them, I consider them to be friends and had a good lunch with them when I visited Tokyo last year. I've gotten one reply (from Ken) so far. I am praying very hard to hear from Jun. Both of them are in the HR profession and must have been entrusted to provide assistance to their companies' relief efforts. I don't want to further disturb them in what must be their most chaotic times in many years.

I say a little prayer for everyone in Japan.

Spare a penny or two? Pretty, please.

Update on 13 March: Jun finally replied to my message and I heaved a huge relief.

A Decision Awaits

An important decision awaits...

There are certain times in life when your heart says one thing while the head says another.

And it is times like this when you wished you could call a friend or poll the audience. 50-50 would be useless in this case for obvious enough reasons.

Hey, you a friend?

Women Are Stupid

I overheard a guy saying "Women are stupid."

I wished I could tell him "We just too smart. We've learned to forget. We forget your shortcomings."

And That's How The Fight Begins...
